Reasons why your Peloton Bike/Bike+ won’t turn on?

The Peloton Bike/Bike+ is made up of many parts. If one of these parts has a problem, your Bike/Bike+ cannot turn on. The power problem is one of the most common problems which make your Peloton Bike/Bike+ lose connection and prevent you from using this equipment.

We have compiled all the common errors that make Peloton Bike/Bike+ unable to start, check this out to see if you have encountered these problems:

  • Loose connection

You may have forgotten to plug in your Bike/Bike+ or the total using power in the household is more than usual which leads to automatically cutting off electricity.

When the plugs overheat and create short circuits will lead to a loose connection, too. This is probably the most noticeable case since you can smell the burning smell and see the evidence clearly.

  • Incorrect connection

Both Peloton Bike and Bike+ have more than 1 plug, so if you plug them in the wrong place or in the wrong way, you won’t be able to turn them on.

  • The screen needs replacement

You still can hear the sound of the running engine when the screen of your machine has been damaged, even if you cannot see where it was damaged because no cracks appear. You will have to remove your Peloton screen and replace it with the new one if you want to use your Peloton Bike/Bike+ later.

Power connections

Make sure your Peloton Bike is plugged into an electrical outlet. If you notice that the plug is still loose, you should press it with pressure so that it can be plugged in properly. Until you see the green light on the power adapter, you’ll know if you do it correctly.

Also, you should have a look at the base of Peloton Bike to check if it is connected yet. After you have done the above steps and still do not see the Peloton Bike power up, you should change to another outlet.

Power requirements

If your outlet has a lower rating of electricity, it will not be enough to turn on the Peloton Bike. Check out the power requirements for your Peloton equipment: 100V to 240V, 50Hz to 60Hz, 3.25 A Max.

In addition, you should not let the plug underneath the Peloton Bike, near a puddle or anywhere you can easily sweat down and accidentally spill water on. This will cause an electrical short, which is very dangerous.

Power cycle

Unplug the power cable and wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then plug it back in. You have to do this because you may use the Peloton Bike for too long without turning them off, causing the power socket to flicker or you don’t fully insert them many times.

Sensor light

After you’ve checked and corrected your power cycle and connections, your Peloton’s touchscreen should have an orange light as photo below. If it does not light up, contact Peloton Support for additional assistance.
